Holiday Home in Loch Ness
A beautifully appointed, purpose-built holiday home on the south side of Loch Ness
You approach the house via a steep driveway and enter the house at the rear. With an impressive glazed frontage, the focus of the house is on light and space, with several communal spaces offering flexibility for guests.
The decor is simple, with carefully selected accessories to add touches of luxury and to give a Scottish feel – Egyptian cotton bedding, fluffy towels, ‘Harris Tweed’ curtains & throws, rugs & cushions from ‘Skyeskyns,’ whisky-barrel furniture from ‘Darach,’ and complimentary hand-soap from ‘Highland Soaps.’ Our artwork is Scottish – many pieces are by local artists.
Wireless Broadband internet access is available throughout the house free of charge.

Snooker Hall
The snooker hall with its full-sized snooker table, is the hub of the house. The snooker table belonged originally to Mum & Dads neighbour, Dermot – Dad played on that table every week for many years, so it holds many fond memories. Italian leather sofas and a whiskey-barrel bar table and stools offer relaxed seating for spectators. Curtains and cushions are trimmed in Loch Ness tartan.
The snooker table is overlooked by the galleried landing, with vaulted ceiling and chandelier.
Double staircases frame the glazed frontage overlooking Loch Ness, with double doors leading onto a decked area.
GalleryÂ
The vaulted galleried landing overlooks the snooker table and offers further seating space – the ideal space to sit with a glass, watching the sunset over the Loch. Large, glazed windows to the front overlook Loch Ness, and double doors provide access onto a balcony.
We are incredibly proud to display a selection of stunning red squirrel photographs taken by a local wildlife photographer, Brian Stokoe. We were Brian’s first ever commission, and he subsequently went on to win the BBC Countryfile calendar competition for 2021. His winning photo of a red squirrel with a daffodil is on display next to the bookcase.
Snug
The snug, with log-burning stove offers a cosy space, ideal for evenings playing games or watching films.
Kitchen-Diner & Sun Room
The kitchen is of high quality, and finished with granite work tops. It is well equipped with a 6-hob, double-oven range cooker, microwave, large fridge/freezer, separate drinks fridge and dishwasher. A Zip Tap provides instant boiling and chilled water – no need for boiling kettles for those endless cups of tea. We have recently added an additional run of units and a drinks fridge, so there is plenty of cupboard space, kitchen equipment and crockery/cutlery.
The island unit has 2 bar stools, so that cooking can be a social affair.
The solid oak dining table seats 12. A highchair is available for young guests.
Off the kitchen-diner is a sun room, with views of Loch Ness to the front, fields to the side, and mountains and forests to the rear. It is the perfect place for that early morning cup of tea.
Adjacent to the kitchen is the utility room, where you will find the less exciting facilities such as a washing machine, ironing board, iron, clothes airers, and clothes pegs if weather permits the use of the washing line. Here you will also find stair-gates for our very young guests or 4-legged members of the family.
There is bedroom accommodation for up to 12 adults in 3 double and 3 twin bedrooms. All of the first-floor bedrooms are accessorised with Harris Tweed curtains, cushions & throws and rugs from Skyeskyns. All our art work is Scottish – some by local artists.
The double bedrooms are all en-suite, with a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside cabinets and a chair.
The large twin room has two single beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside cabinets and a chair. The small twin room has two single beds, chest of drawers, a shared bedside cabinet, chair and table. The twin rooms are served by a large family bathroom.
On the ground floor we have provided a further twin room with en-suite, ideal for elderly or less able guests. It has two single beds, chest of drawers, dressing table and a chair.
In addition, a cot is available for very young guests. This can be located in any room in the house, on request.
Do you offer short breaks?
Yes, you can book a minimum of 3 nights for a short break in the Low Season (Winter) and Mid Season (Spring and Autumn). However, if the house is available in high season, you could book a last minute short break.
What are the arrival & departure times?
Normally we ask that guests don’t arrive before 4pm, and leave by 10am on the day of departure. We are sure you understand that, especially during busy times, the housekeeper has to clean and prepare the house between guests departing and new ones arriving, and she really does need the full 6 hours.
However, if the house is available before or after your stay, you may be able to arrive earlier or leave later. This must be by arrangement, and is completely at our discretion, with the agreement of our housekeeper.
Can I bring camp beds for additional overnight guests?
There is plenty of floor space for camp beds or additional cots should you wish to bring extra. However, this must be within reason and by agreement, to avoid any misunderstanding, and to avoid putting unacceptable strain on the house and facilities. There may be an additional charge for extra guests to reflect the extra work involved with cleaning.
Can I bring a dog?
We allow one well-behaved dog, provided it is not allowed upstairs. We do ask that you clear up the garden after your dog please. We do, on occasion, allow extra dogs. This is by agreement.
